Reformation Sunday is always special at Messiah.  This Sunday Rev. Dr. Just was our guest preacher and also updated us on the work being done in Kenya at the Adult Bible Class.

If this wasn't enough we also celebrated ground breaking  for our Sunday School addition and following that Oktoberfest!

Photographs taken at the ordination of our own Roy Coats at the Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer, 4211 Vermont St, Baltimore  MD  on November 21 2010.  Roy is the son of Elizabeth and Vernon Coats, members of Messiah.  We are so proud to see Roy pastor of his own church at a location so desperately in need of shepherding.

After church on May 30th 20 OWLS headed to Sonol for "The Great Train Ride".  Following a picnic lunch we boarded the cabose of the Niles Canyon Railway for a liserely trip to Niles and return.  A great trip that we might repeat again later in the year for the "Holiday Special"

Three families joined Messiah Lutheran on Sunday, November 8, 2009. We welcomed Chris & Jeannine Pattini, Steven & Alice Tye, and the Vitkavage family, Dan & Laura, Miriam, Tim & Luke into our church. Following the Divine Service there was a member meeting and reception in the fireside room.

The OWLS (Older Wiser Lutheran Seniors) are partying again. This time about 22 of us met for a potluck dinner and an evening of singing Christmas songs. Marianne Roundtree played the piano and led the singing. Food was great and Fellowship even better as you can see by these picture.

This year 20 Thanksgiving dinner food baskets were prepared and given to the needy in our our community. The need this year is much greater than previous years and we were able to double last years giving.

Several women within the congratulation organized a food drive, collected cash and food donations both within Messiah and surrounding grocery stores. Baskets were prepared and distributed to the needy so they would enjoy a traditional thanksgiving dinner. These photos were taken on Sunday (11/15) following the Divine Service while the baskets were being prepared for delivery and pickup. Thanks to all who helped make this this program a success.
